Area Overview
Miyako Island is a flat island formed from uplifted coral, located approximately 300km southwest of the Okinawa main island. With no rivers, there is minimal sediment runoff into the ocean, creating the extraordinary clarity known as "Miyako Blue." Spectacular reef formations have developed around the island, making it world-famous for dynamic terrain diving through caves, arches, and tunnels. The Irabu and Shimoji Island area, connected by the Irabu Bridge, features unique diving points including the legendary "Toriike" (Twin Pools). Yonaha Maehama Beach is known as the most beautiful beach in the Orient, with a full range of marine sports available.
